Split level off Cochituate, February, and bitterly cold on the garage side of the kitchen where the unit sits. Frozen food was softening although the panel still read correct. A failed thermistor. He swapped it, checked the result against his own probe, and was gone inside the hour.

The bin filled slowly and then stopped altogether. He measured the fill and found the inlet screen almost solid with mineral scale. Cleaned it out, replaced the valve, and the harvest rate went back to normal.

Our 600 series in the back addition stopped holding below forty. He checked the sealed system, found it healthy, and pinned the trouble on a shorted temperature sensor. Replaced, watched two cycles, cabinetry unmarked.
